Two St Andrews Tobacco Trading Cards.
Two W.D. & H.O. Wills Cigarette Cards of "The Home of Golf", St Andrews. Tobacco cards / cigarette cards are trading cards issued by tobacco manufacturers, often to stiffen cigarette packaging and to promote and advertise their own brands. The cigarette companies often included collectible cards with their packages of cigarettes between 1875 and 1940's and often depicted actresses of the period, costumes and sports. These two cards are from the 'Homeland Events' series of real photographs for W.D. & H.O. Wills. No. 45 shows Bobby Jones putting on the 16th green during the final round of the Open Championship, which he won. 16 shows Bobby Jones putting on the 17th green during the Amateur Golf Championship Final, while a huge crowd of spectators encircle the green.

St Andrews "The Home of Golf" is on the Fife Coast of eastern Scotland and is considered the oldest and most iconic golf course in the world. The Old Course is 6721 yards with a par of 72. It is famous for the 'Swilcan Bridge' spanning the first and 18th holes and 'Hell Bunker'. The club was founded in 1754 and the title of "The Royal and Ancient" was granted to St Andrews Golf Club by William IV in 1834.
