An early pair of fireplace bellows. These are a very unusual set of mechanical bellows and are made with a fruitwood body with metal casing. The ingenious bellows will give a continuous stream of air. This is done by turning the brass wheel which is connected to a large rotating paddle wheel inside the bellows via a cord belt. The paddle wheel has three fins which gives a steady jet of air through the funnel. The brass wheel has a tension adjustment to it. This is an excellent decorative and working accessory even for the most modern fireplace.
