A fine chromolithograph after Cecil Aldin en-titled "The first fence". The print is in an old darkened oak frame and was printed and published by Eyre and Spottiswoode Ltd, East Harding Street, London. between 1920 and 1924.
Cecil Aldin (1870 - 1935) was a prolific painter, not only is he known for his sensitive depiction's of his dogs, but he also painted scenes of hunting and racing. Aldin was the Master of the South Berkshire Hunt and was elected a member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1898.
