Country Manor House Oil Painting.
An early oil on board depicting a rural scene. The oil paintings shows two policemen standing guard at the gates of a Country Manor House. A horse and cart have drawn up and are waiting at the gates whilst the driver can be seen walking down the drive of the manor. Signed J. Davies 1872. Framed in period mahogany frame, the original backboards are in the frame one is marked in ink 'J. Davies 1872'.

This could be James Henry Davies of Manchester who was a landscape painter who flourished around 1870's.
