Free Standing Wooden Photo Frame.
A mahogany photo frame with inlay, complete with an old military photograph. The good quality frame has a weighted back foot allowing it to stand. The photo is of a gentleman from the Pioneer Corps / Light Infantry / Rifle Regiment. He is wearing the Pioneer Corps collar badges of crossed pick and rifle, the pioneers would go in advance of an army preparing roads and trenches for the oncoming soldiers. His cap badge consists of the bugle horn surmounted by the Sovereign's Crown, the bugle with its cords and tassels has long been the symbol of light infantry troops who first used the clarion call of the bugle instead of the drum to deliver messages and orders across the battlefields of the late 18th century.
