Vintage Perry & Perry Leather Cartridge Magazine Case.
A fine leather shooting shotgun cartridge magazine case by Perry & Perry, Piccadilly. The high quality cartridge case with oak carcass covered in tan leather, it has a working brass lock but no key. The magazine case is in very good original condition with brass corner protectors and single leather central carry handle. The interior with polished oak finish and containing four oak removable dividers (3 are later replacements), making five compartments, with adjustable leather cartridge lifting straps. The inside of the lid is dark red baize with a Perry & Perry trade label. The lid with embossed black initials 'J.A.G.' and with replaced twin leather straps.
A cartridge magazine is a traditional method of storing cartridges between shoots. When on a shoot the cartridges needed would be removed and placed in a cartridge bag.
