A Slazenger Fred Perry & Dan Maskell 'P-M' wooden framed lawn tennis racket, designed as a beginner's tuition racket, when new it would have been accompanied by a Slazenger published instructional booklet by Fred Perry & Dan Maskell. The throat of the racket bearing a PM monogram, the top of the head stamped 'Slazengers', then there are instructions all over the racket with the bottom of the head printed FOREHAND AND SERVICE FACE on one side then BACKHAND FACE on the other. On the handle the printed instructions to the player are READY! ON YOUR TOES, CONCENTRATE, WATCH THE BALL, GET INTO POSITION, STROKE FIRMLY, FOLLOW THROUGH. Just above the leather grip on the handle are arrows & lettering (B & S, F) to indicate the correct grip position for forehands, serving and backhands. This is a lovely racket in good condition but as one would expect from a beginners racket there are a few chips to the paint work.
