G.R. ("Reg") Brandreth - Fishing Rod Maker
Reg Brandreth (born c. early 1900s; died early 2000s) was an English amateur rod maker associated with the Peak District and Lake District. By profession he worked as a railway engineer and later served as head photographer for British Rail. He built split-cane rods in his spare time, turning to full-time rod making after retirement. Brandreth specialised in long bamboo rods for coarse fishing, as well as lighter rods suited to small rivers and streams, including waters such as the River Derwent and the River Wye (upper reaches). He was well known and respected locally, though his reputation remained largely regional.
Not much is known about Brandreth, most of this information we found on the web and from AI. So we are not sure about it's accuracy.
