Arthur Roland Knight was born 1845 in Aston, Birmingham, England. Parents, Edward, and Ann Knight. By 1871 he had become a highly renowned angling artist, now living in Tottenham, London. His specialty was freshwater fish, trout, salmon, pike and perch, mainly single fish or small groups in the water, but occasionally still lifes with the fish artistically placed on the riverbank, sometimes with fishing rod and creel.
He married Harriet Amy Golding and they lived at 9 Helena Road in Walthamstow with their two children, Katherine and Arthur Roland Jnr. We believe he died in 1921.
