A set of four game bird colotypes by Archibald Thorburn, titled 'The Seasons'. Each bird represents a season, Partridge - Spring, Pheasant - Autumn, Grouse - Summer, Black Game - Winter. All four game bird pictures (Grouse, Pheasant, Partridges & Ptarmigan) are in original glazed frames with gold slip and signed in pencil by the artist. Each frame with original paper trade label from Grindley & Palmer, Liverpool, with hand written title. A great colourful set of pictures published by W.F. Embleton (successor to A. Baird-Carter) 70 Jermyn Street, London, printed in Austria.
