Taylor - Rolph 'Crescent' Lawn Bowls.
A set of four lignum vitae lawn bowls by Taylor - Rolph Co. Ltd, London. The bowls are a size 5 1/16, have a bias of 3 and are numbered 1 to 4 on ivory discs on one side and are initialled 'M' on the other. The bowls are stamped 'Crescent' and have the crescent grip on both sides. The crescent grip is "handed", being made specially for a right or left handed player, thus the manufacturer has to know when manufacturing the set. These are stamped 'R' and are for a right handed player. Also marked on the bowl 'J32, set 8799' and an official date stamp of 1937. The set comes in a string net bag.
