Spelter Figure Of A Petanque Player, Boules
29287
Antique Bronzed Spelter Boules Figure, Petanque.
A very nice French Art Deco style spelter figure of a Pétanque, Boules or Bocce player. The figure has a verdigris finish to look like weathered bronze and is of a gentleman in long trousers and flat cap posed ready to execute a throw. The figure is mounted on a marble base. A good unusual sporting sculpture, would make a good trophy.
Spelter is a white metal alloy cast in the lost wax process.
Pétanque or boules, are two different names for the same game. It is a popular French outdoor game played by two opposing teams throwing boules/balls towards a target ball.
