Six Cricket Prints By Chevallier-Tayler
Six Cricket Prints.
A wonderful set of six modern coloured cricket lithographs after Albert Chevallier Tayler. The cricketers are taken from the 1905 'The Empire's Cricketers' which was part of a series of 48 drawings published by the Art Society in weekly instalments. Chevallier Taylor caught the action of the cricketers from photographs supplied by the leading cricket photographer of the time, George William Beldam (1868-1937), who also supplied the original descriptive text for each portrait. The six cricketers on offer are J.H. King (Leicestershire & one test match for England), W. Rhodes (Yorkshire), Hon. F.S. Jackson (Yorkshire & England), Clement Hill (Australia), J.T. Hearne (Middlesex & England) and Mr. A.O. Jones (Nottinghamshire & England). The pictures are all glazed and framed in wooden black frames, ready to hang. Printed by Gilbt, Whitehead & Co., Ltd., New Eltham. S.E.
