A thick handled willow cricket bat retailed by John Piggott Ltd., London. The bat has nice round shoulders, corded grip with the bat embossed 'John Piggott Ltd., Cheapside, Milk Street, London' on both shoulders, 'Surrey Driver' and the 'J.P' registered trademark on the front of the bat.
It seems John Piggott of Cheapside, London, dealt in everything with his adverts ranging from Motists' Outfitters, Tennis items, Cricket equipment, Cycling waterproofs & shoes, clothes & other cycling accessories. There was even an advert in 1915 for The JP "IMPREGNABLE" Motorcycle.
