Antique Cricket Belt Buckle
Antique Cricket Belt Buckle
28786
Cricket Belt Buckle, The Eleven.
Brass-coloured cast metal belt buckle with raised images mounted on a flat plated metal back plate. The piece is attached to the back plate via metal pins at each of its corners that pierce the buckle and are flattened out on the reverse. On the reverse of the back plate there is also a loop and hook for a belt. The raised scene features eleven figures in varied cricketing poses wearing plain, stripped and patterned shirts, a time before 'cricketing whites' were introduced. All the gentlemen have facial hair, be it a beard, mustache or sideburns with four of the gentlemen with cricket bats, two in bowling stances, one is behind the wickets, one is attaching his pads and three are fielding. A wonderful piece of cricket memorabilia.
