Leather Victorian Cricket Ball
Leather Victorian Cricket Ball

Victorian Cricket Ball.
A fine brown leather cricket ball. The ball covering is constructed from four pieces of leather. These pieces have two joints that are internally sewn and a main joint that is the "equator" of the ball. This is stitched with string with a total of six rows of stitches. This prominent seam is the most important part of the ball, producing its unpredictable movement off the grass. The core of the ball is made of cork and is then layered with tightly wound string. It is in used condition with beautiful patination.
