Jaques Croquet Set, Specially Made For Harrods.
A Jaques garden croquet set in original green painted pine box with four brass bound mallets, specially made for the famous London retailers 'Harrods'. To complete the set there are four coloured 'Jaques Eclipse' balls in the standard croquet colours, six bent metal hoops, eight wooden boundary pegs, one winning post and a Schotten simple summary Croquet rule booklet. The lid has a Jaques paper label on the inside and on the outside is the remains of a stenciled 'Jaques Croquet, London' to the lid and on the front stenciled 'specially made for Harrods', '103' is on one side. The mallets are 37 ½ inches in length and are stamped Jaques London, made in England' with the remains of a 'Harrods' decal sticker. The mallets with traditional octagonal ash sprung handles to help a player find the correct alignment of a shot and finished with a black and white cord grip. The heads fitted with brass reinforcing rings that add weight whilst helping protect the mallet faces from damage by miss hit shots, the faces are scored with concentric rings that aid the playing of stop shots and follow through roll shots. A great garden croquet set.
