My Hunting Sketchbook - Volumes I & II by Lionel Edwards (1928 & 1930).
A beautifully preserved two-volume set of Lionel Edwards' My Hunting Sketchbook, first published in 1928 and 1930. These charming books showcase Edwards' renowned sporting illustrations, with Volume I containing fifteen colour plates alongside numerous black-and-white drawings, and Volume II featuring twelve striking colour plates. Blank pages are included between plates to preserve the artwork.
Both volumes are bound in the publisher's original oatmeal cloth boards, each with an impressed paper title label on the upper cover. The bindings are tight and sound, with interiors that remain clean, bright, and unmarked. The set is in overall fine condition, with only light staining to the cloth but pages that are crisp, white, and beautifully preserved.
A delightful example of Edwards' work and an excellent addition for collectors of sporting art, illustration, or finely produced early 20th-century books.
