A nice pair of vintage mahogany bergère library chairs made in the 'Regency' style. The sides, base and back of these chairs are caned with wicker, front and back double caned, and they have a loose leather cushion. The front legs are turned and reeded, the back legs are square and all with strong brass castors. The chairs are of a good size and shape, with nice scroll arms.
The design of the Antique Bergère Chair first appeared in the late 17th Century during Louis XIV's reign in France.
