Front cover with an image of the winter medal of the "Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers" and the title 'The Art Of Golf'. Rear board with an image of four golf balls, one feathery and three mesh balls, one being 'The Eclipse Patent'. Boards slightly discoloured, spine with gilt title 'The Art Of Golf By Sir W.G. Simpson, Bart, Edinburgh MDCCCLXXXVII' and in great condition. As far as we can ascertain all 186 pages are there plus adverts, and are clean and clear apart from slight foxing to edges.
One of the all time classic books, a must for the golf library, in great collectors condition.
Includes the first use of photographs to demonstrate the golf swing, using amongst others Old Tom Morris & Sayers. There are 20 illustrations and 10 diagrams over the 186 pages.
