Vintage Leather Finnigans luggage, Gladstone Bag, Kit Bag.
A brown leather square mouth 'Gladstone' bag with linen interior of large proportions. The bag is fitted with sliding brass lock clips at both ends with and a central push button brass lock, two leather securing straps, five brass studded feet and two central carry handles. The bag has a very good decorative appeal and is in a usable condition. The lid is in two parts and opens flat to reveal an interior with four pockets on the sides, two on each. The leather is embossed 'Finnigan Maker Manchester' on the top edge.
Gladstone bags are named after the 19th cent British Prime Minister William Ewart Gladstone; the bags are usually constructed of leather fitted over a metal frame.
