Vintage Motoring K 'COMET' Force Feed Oil Can

Vintage Motoring Kayes Comet Force Feed Oil Can.
An automotive oil can "Comet" made by Joseph Kaye and Sons Ltd., Leeds with Provincial Patent No: 23605. A fantastic piece of vintage motoring ephemera, the perfect gift for the motoring enthusiast. Who would have thought the mundane garage oiler of the Golden Age of automobiles would be a collector's piece. The motorist's oil can with a corrugated body and embossed to the top 'COMET' and to the bottom 'Force K Feed, ProvPat No. 23605'. The metal with a lovely patina.
The pump oil can dispenser is a great standalone piece or the start of an automobilia can collection.
Kaye's were established in 1864 making general metal door fittings, and after they perfected their oil cans, this became the company's speciality. Their cans were known to have a large "K" on the side, and their printed adverts sometimes abbreviated the company name from Kaye's to K's. Lock Works, Leeds and 93 Holborn, London
