Vintage Spelter Tennis Figure.
This is a charming late 19th to early 20th century spelter tennis or probably badminton figure, likely made in continental Europe. The figure is cast in spelter (a zinc alloy often used as a less expensive alternative to bronze) and depicts a male tennis player in mid-serve, dressed in Victorian or Edwardian-era attire. He wears a jacket, waistcoat, and trousers, along with a wide-brimmed hat. The player is captured in action, with one arm raised and holding a small racquet, mounted on a small circular marble base. The spelter tennis player has a silver coloured finish.
