Vintage Bronzed Spelter Football Figure.
A very nice spelter figure of a footballer. The footballer is about to kick a football with his right foot and is wearing a traditional football kit of long socks, long shorts and a shirt with long sleeves and lace up collar. Mounted onto an Onyx base with plaque "A.R. Hughes. M.A.A., from R.N.Depot Chatham F.C. 1926".
A very nice modelled figure which has been repaired at the ankle, this is quite common as it is a weak point in the casting.
In the Navy M.A.A stands for Master at arms.
