A very nice, unusual blackthorn walking stick with large root-knob ball handle, brass ferrule and two RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) brass plaques. The plaques with the RNLI flag logo and different images of lifeboats on each, The Atlantic 21 and the Arun.

The Atlantic 21 is part of the B class of lifeboats that served the shores of the United Kingdom and Ireland as part of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) inshore fleet, it can be launched from a davit, trolley or floating boathouse depending on the location of the station and the available facilities. The Atlantic 21 was the first generation rigid inflatable boat (RIB), originated at and by Atlantic College in South Wales, nearly all of the Atlantic 21s have now been retired from service.

The Arun-class lifeboat was a fast all-weather lifeboat designed by the RNLI for service at its stations around the coasts of the United Kingdom and Ireland. They were operated by the RNLI between 1971 and 2008. Many have been sold to see further service in the lifeboat and coastguard services of other countries. The class takes its name from the River Arun in Sussex, England. Taken from Wikipedia
