WW 2 Longines Navigators Watch
32102
WWII Royal Air Force Longines Navigators Watch.
A fine RAF Longines 6B/159 Navigator's Watch, accompanied by an exceptionally rare and original Air Ministry transit box.
Bearing the official Air Ministry markings, this remarkable timepiece would have been issued directly to Royal Air Force pilots and navigators during the Second World War. Under the Air Ministry's inventory system, the 6B designation identified aircraft navigation equipment, while the 159 code referred specifically to a precision wristwatch issued for personal use by flight crew members in the cockpit. Dating from approximately 1942-1943, with the original transit box itself dated March 1950, this watch represents an outstanding example of wartime British military aviation history.
