Vintage Stubai Mountaineering Ice Axe.
A good Austrian 'Stubai' ice axe, the handle is made from ash with a good steel pick (slightly serrated) and with a good adze. This is a fine quality ice pick with the head stamped 'Austria' on one side,ORIGINAL ASCHENBRENNER, GES.GESCH.' with the diamond 'STUBAI' logo on the other. This is a fine quality ice pick with leather end protectors, a canvas securing leash and a pointed flat spike and a metal ferrule.
The price is for the 'Stubai' ice axe, although the last image shows the 'Stubai' ice axe with a 'CAMP' ice axe (28509) priced at £110.
Ice axes are multipurpose tools used by mountaineers in both the ascent and descent.
