A single framed Archibald Thorburn game bird colotype from his 'Seasons' series, this being 'SUMMER'. The single picture is of red Grouse on the moor published by W.F. Embleton (successor to A. Baird-Carter) 70 Jermyn Street, London, 1927. Printed in Austria and signed in pencil by the artist.
The original set of four game bird pictures were titled 'The Seasons', and each season represented by a different bird, Partridge - Spring, Pheasant - Autumn, Grouse - Summer, Black Game - Winter.
