Four Of Aldin's Old Country Inns Prints.
Four colourful coaching chromolithographic prints after Cecil Aldin, taken from his popular series of coaching prints 'Old Country Inns'.
The set comprises of The Dover Road - The Bull at Dartford, The Brighton Road - The Maiden's Head at Uckfield, The Great North Road - The Bell at Shilton and The Portsmouth Road - The Talbot at Ripley. They are all in original decorative oak frames, each with a carved sign post (To Portsmouth, To Dover, To York & To Brighton) and the title of the print - The Bull at Dartford, The Maiden's Head at Uckfield, The Bell at Stilton and The Talbot at Ripley.

The original series of prints was called 'The Six Old Coaching Roads' and included: The Exeter Road - The White Hart at Hook; The Dover Road - The Bull at Dartford; The Great North Road - The Bell at Stilton; The Portsmouth Road - The Talbot at Ripley; The Brighton Road - The Maiden's Head at Uckfield; The Oxford Road - The Angel at Henley. The series was later extended to include The Mitre at Oxford and was renamed Old Country Inns.
