A vibrant original watercolour of two setters laying down on the grass with a brace of pheasants and large wicker creel, signed lower right 'J. S. Noble'. Gold mount with title 'In Glen Falloch. J. S. Noble'. Framed in original gilt frame with decorated corners.
John Sergeant Noble (1848 - 1896) was a British painter celebrated for his detailed sporting, equestrian and animals depictions, particularly hunting dogs. Born in Liverpool in 1848, Noble studied at the Liverpool School of Art and exhibited at prestigious institutions such as the Royal Academy in London, he became a pupil of Sir Edwin Landseer.
Glenfalloch is located in the Loch Lomond & the Trossachs Park, predominantly moorland and upland with some native broadleaf and Caledonian pine woodland. It is a valley in the Argyll and Bute area of Scotland, between Crianlarich and Loch Lomand. The river Falloch, flows through it before entering Loch Lomand.
