Rare Royal Doulton Archery Plate.
A Royal Doulton 'Old English Games' Series wear Plate entitled ''The Diversions of Uncle Toby - Toby as a Toxophilite'. The plate is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs, there is the usual crazing to the glaze as would be expected. The plate depicts Uncle Toby taking aim at an archery target, three arrows are stuck into the ground, one man is watching whilst another is manning the target in the distance. The plate has the printed trademark of Royal Doulton with the lion and crown. This mark was introduced to mark the grant of the Royal Warrant by King Edward VII. Also on the rear of the plate 'Old English Games, Uncle Toby Series and the pattern number D3121'.
