A wonderful pair of French fencing figures by Rene Charles Masse (1855-1913). It is very difficult to find fencing statues, let alone of this size and quality. The two gentlemen are made from spelter with a bronzed colour finish. Both figures are impressively large and cast with great detail and mounted onto circular plinths. The bases are marked with the artist's name, Ch. Masse.
