Vintage Willow Cricket Bat.
A good cricket bat stamped on the face of the blade 'Jim Burke, New South Wales & Australia, super selected, four star' and on the shoulders 'County, Sports Works, St Neots, Hunts' within a shield topped with a crown. To the rear it is marked 'Patent Handle No. 242103, Super Selected, four STARS, Guaranteed Genuine Salix Caerulea Willow, Hand-hammered and Pressed'. There is also an old paper label with instructions on how to care for the bat, 'This Bat Should Be Oiled About Six Times Before Use, Break In With Old Ball'.
A nice clean bat still with rubber grip, although slightly perished.
