Vintage Grass Line Marker, Ernest Lake Ltd., Bishop's Stortford.
A white line marker for grass tennis courts, sports fields or cricket pitches. The line marker has been cleaned but leaving a lot of the original green paint on the metal work and some of the white chalk paint. There is an enamel makers badge 'Ernest Lake Ltd., Manufactures, Bishop's Stortford'. There are two front wheels with an alignment guide, in great condition, the transfer wheel that delivers the whiting from bucket to the painting wheel is also there, these are normally lost as they are not fixed.
A great robust line marker manufactured in the UK, ideal for display purposes or can still be used.
Ernest Lake Ltd. were listed as manufacturing engineers, specialised in aircraft servicing equipment and were also proprietors of Harvey Frost Ltd, makers of garage equipment, jacks and vulcanizing equipment. They were acquired by J. Brockhouse and Co. in 1943.
