Vintage Slazenger Eight Mallet Croquet Set On Stand.
A good quality Victorian eight-mallet croquet set in original pine box and on a round mahogany stand, all the mallet heads are marked 'SLAZENGER, LONDON'. The heads are made from boxwood and are fitted with ash handles which are round with grooved grips and coloured rings from one to four in red and blue for the different players. To complete the set there are eight boxwood balls with the same number of coloured rings to match the mallets, six bent metal hoops and two ornately turned posts, one painted with two sets of numbers 1,2,3,4 in red and blue bands.
A wonderful 8 mallet garden croquet set in excellent condition, the lid on the original polished pine box still has the Slazenger paper trade label. The turned mahogany stand is new and is a copy of an original Victorian croquet stand.
