This framed and very colourful Cecil Aldin photolithograph is a limited edition of 225 and is taken from The Six Old Coaching Roads series. It is titled "The Exeter Road - The White Hart at Hook". Published by Richard Wyman & Co., Ltd. 16, Bedford Street, Strand, London, W.C. and signed in pencil by the artist and numbered 165.

Image size: 11 ¾" wide by 6 ¾" high.

The Six Old Coaching Roads series included: The Exeter Road - The White Hart at Hook; The Dover Road - The Bull at Dartford; The Great North Road - The Bell at Shilton; The Portsmouth Road - The Talbot at Ripley; The Brighton Road - The Maiden's Head at Uckfield; The Oxford Road - The Angel at Henley. The series was later extended to include The Mitre at Oxford and was renamed Old Country Inns.

Cecil Aldin (1870 - 1935) was a prolific painter, not only did he paint the golfing scenes he also painted sensitive depictions of his dogs and scenes of hunting and racing. Aldin was the Master of the South Berkshire Hunt and was elected a member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1898.
