Cecil Aldin, Market day in Normandy.
A good single chromolithograph from a set of six Nursery friezes depicting a market day in Normandy developed from designs which Aldin had painted on the walls of his children's nursery. Framed in an old oak frame and published by Lawrence and Jellicoe.
Frame size: 11 ¼ inches high by 29 inches wide.
Cecil Aldin (1870 - 1935) was a prolific painter, not only did he paint his dogs, the Inns and some golfing scenes. He was famous for his wonderful scenes of hunting and racing. Aldin was the Master of the South Berkshire Hunt and was elected a member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1898.
