A good Snaffles WWI military lithograph ' That Far, Far-away Echo 1915 - 16'. The picture shows an officer in the trenches dreaming of his hunting days, the dream sequence showing a huntsman and his hounds. This is a rare picture as it has the addition of the fox as well as the huntsman and the hounds. In the top left-hand margin is a remarque depicting a horses head looking over a stable door. This Charles "Snaffles" Johnson Payne (1884 1967) picture is in excellent original condition and framed in a black frame with the Snaffles blindstamp (a bridle bit) in the bottom right hand corner and artists signature in pencil in the opposite corner.
