Antique Walking Stick, Horse Measure.
This is a good quality Edwardian horse measuring stick in the form of a crook handle bamboo walking cane with a silver mount and original brass ferrule bottom. On the bamboo root handle there is a silver mount, which when pulled out reveals a concealed measuring stick, the silver hallmarked J.C, London, 1903. The brass and wood measure has measurements on two of the sides of the square shaft, Hands on one side and centimetres on the other and will measure up to 175cm. There is also a brass arm which opens out from the body of the measure which is fitted with a spirit level to make sure you are measuring straight!
