The Devon Stream, Trout Fishing Print, Lionel Edwards.
A decorative coloured trout fly fishing print by Lionel Edwards. The coloured print is framed and in a double aperture mount, the second picture of a leaping trout. The size shown is for the coloured plate, the trout image is 7½ cm high, 9 cm wide. Taken from the book 'A Sportsman's Bag' by Lionel Edwards which had an introduction by Crascredo, being a 1937 edition and illustrated with 18 (including Frontispiece) full page colour plates. Published by Country Life and this fishing picture titled 'A Devon Stream' with a small write up of :-

The Devon Stream, The Devon Trout is not large, or even very numerous, but his haunts are the haunts of peace. Although I have known some fishermen to whom their surroundings meant little and their catch of fish all, they are in the minority. Leaving out even the bottom-fishing fraternity, of whose methods I know little, the majority of fishermen are men of scant leisure - small-means men, to whom fishing the best waters of Scotland or Norway is but a dream. To them the size of the bag is (almost of necessity) a secondary matter. What they chiefly desire is the quiet peace of running waters. Hence the attraction of Devon streams, and their usually diminutive troutlets.
