Antique Hardy 'Alnwick' Spinner
Antique Hardy 'Alnwick' Spinner
Rare Hardy Spinner.
A rare and great looking arrowhead spinner by Hardy Brothers called the 'Alnwick' Spinner. One of the wings is made of embossed gilt metal, the other of plain nickel with a ball in the center. The wing revolves perfectly on the brass wire shaft. The Hardy lure is stamped "Hardy Bros. Alnwick".
Pflueger (an American company) made the 'American Spinner Lure' which was very similar to Hardy's. Theirs was first introduced around 1894. The Enterprise Manufacturing Company of Akron, Ohio were not the only ones to make this lure. A very similar, with notable differences, was produced and patented by John B. McHarg in 1896 as well as The Hedryx Bait Company.
The hardy catalogue shown in some pictures is for display purposes only and is not for sale, as are the product information images from the catalogues.
