Four Piece Travelling Hardy Fishing Rod, N.A.A.F.
A rare Hardy Palakona combined Fly and Sinning rod in original Hardy Bros. canvas bag. The Palakona 4-piece rod is made by Hardy's of Alnwick and it is in excellent condition. The rod with suction joints, two sliding universal alloy band reel fittings, detachable cork handle and intermediate fullopen rings, and complete with all stoppers. The rod has the registration number E75838 dating it to 1951. It has the black inscription spiralling around the shaft 'the N.A.A.F., Hardy Bros., Palakona Regd., Trade Mark'. Hardy were the first manufacturer to make split cane rods in hexagonal form as The Hardy 'Palakona' rod.

The 8ft. 10 ins. Fly Rod is composed of four parts and the cork handle. The balance is very similar to the Hardy Gold medal. The 6ft. 10 ins. Spinning Rod consists of the top and two middles and the cork handle, balance like the Hardy Wanless 4 lb, also makes an excellent small inclined stiff fly rod.
