Sharpe Trout Fly Rod, "SCOTTIE".
A fine J.S. Sharpe's of Aberdeen 9'2", 2 piece Scottie split cane trout fly rod. The split bamboo rod is with suction joint, burgundy whipped rings, alloy reel ring and J.S Sharpe Ltd. Aberdeen is stamped on the end of the alloy butt with the serial number 71263.. The inscription spiraling around the rod with decal is 'The "Scottie" with an image of a Scottie dog and the word 'impregnated'. Sharpe's of Aberdeen produced a great many cane rods that were impregnated with a special resin, this process meant that the rods were virtually rot proof.
