Vintage Style Photography, Framed Alpine Ski Photograph, The Race.
'THE RACE', a modern framed and mounted black and white photographic image after an original 1930's skiing photograph. The frame is a hand coloured reeded wooden black frame. Black & white alpine photos are the perfect addition to any home or ski lodge, so please do check out our other ski photos and winter landscapes. Prior to being a recreational activity skiing was purely a means of travelling from A to B through the snow, it only started to become the sport it is today in the mid-1800's.

The photo is showing a biplane racing a car on a frozen lake. This amazing photograph was taken in Grainau, a small town in Bavaria, at the foot of Germany's highest mountain, the Zugspitze.
The pilot is General Ernst Udet - the World War I flying ace who flew in the famous Richthofen squadron and the driver was either Hans Stuck or Caracciola as both raced Ernst Udet on the frozen lake Eibsee.

The photographs are also available unframed, priced at £49.
They also come in a larger size, the external size of the mount is 36 ½" x 25" - image size 30 ¾" X 19 ½" and priced at £160.
This larger mount can also be framed in the hand finished frame, external size 38 ½" X 27 ¼", priced at £320.

These framed photos are made to order so please be patient.
