Army & Navy Campaign Spirit Stove In Leather Case With Sauce Pan
Army & Navy Campaign Spirit Stove With Pan In Original Leather Case.
An Army & Navy Cooperative Society Limited campaign/travelling spirit stove with sauce pan. The whole apparatus neatly packs into the leather travel case. The leather case is with buckle fastening and stamped "Army & Navy C.S.L, Makers London" to the base. The sauce pan has a pouring lip, a screw in handle, a removable lid, 5" diameter and 3 ¼" high. The spirit stove stacks neatly into the sauce pan, which in-turn goes into the leather case for transport. There are some spare wicks for the stove. The base of the pan is stamped "Victoria Street, A & N. C. S Ltd. Westminster S.W", "Made in France, 2" with a makers mark. The mark is of an anchor with two serpents entwined, the anchor has wings to the top and the initials LC. The stove consists of a spirit heater with a screw on cap, this acts to extinguish the flame and protect the wick when not in use. There is a stand which sits on top of the burner with 3 metal supports with a ring on which the sauce pan sits.
A great piece of kit for the army officer then and for the picnic enthusiast now.
