Jack (Lawson) Dunfee was a British racing driver from the Golden Era in Motor Racing and one of the famous "Bentley Boys". Jack was one of four sons of Colonel Vickers Dunfee and raced with his younger brother Clive. Clive was killed in a dramatic accident at Brooklands in 1932 in the BRDC 500 Miles Race. Jack entered the pits having taken the "Old Number One" Speed Six Bentley into fourth place. Shortly after Clive had taken to the track, and in passing Earl Howe's Bugatti, he put the wheel of his car over the lip of the banking and the Bentley cartwheeled over the top and plunged into the trees. Dunfee was thrown out and killed instantly. The "Bentley Boys" were a group of wealthy British racing drivers who raced Bentley sports cars to victories in the 1920's and 30's. Thanks to the "Bentley Boys" Bentley, located at Cricklewood, north London, managed to achieve four consecutive victories at the 24hrs of Le Mans race from 1927 to 1930.
