Jaques All Star Derby Horse Racing Game.
A wonderful horse roulette game with baize betting mat and original cardboard box (box is a little tatty) manufactured in England by John Jaques & Son Ltd, 15 - 21 Kirby Street, Hatton Garden London. The game board is made of wood, the surround painted black, top green. There is a hole in the middle with a metal central roulette spinner which is surrounded by eight painted lead horses with their names painted onto the game board surface. The names of the horses being Felstead, Trigo, Blenheim, Cameronian, April the Fifth, Manna, Coronach and Call Boy. There is also painted on the surface 'Jaques, London' with the Jaques 'Triangle' gilt transfer logo in one corner. There are a further eight holes cut into the surface by the horses, this allows the finishing positions to be viewed. To play the game, first a knob on the side of the game is pulled to allow power to the three sets of light bulbs. Bets are placed onto the baize mat, to win, place or each way, the roulette wheel is then spun. The bulbs illuminate as the wheel is spun and when it comes to rest the light bulbs indicate who is 1st, 2nd & 3rd. The game board is in excellent condition, betting mat with no holes, only the cardboard box lid is showing the signs of age.
The lid of the box with a paper label 'Jaques Electrical All Star Derby (patent applied for), Manufactured in England by John Jaques & Son Ltd, 15 - 21 Kirby Street, Hatton Garden London' with an image of the horse racing game.
The game is in the same vein of Totopoly and Escalado, bring the excitement of Aintree, Newmarket or Ascot to the home.
