Antique Hickory Golf Club, Bronze head Lofting Iron
Antique Hickory Golf Club, Bronze head Lofting Iron
ANTIQUE HICKORY GOLF CLUB IRON, BRONZE HEAD.
A good bronze (gun metal) head golf club, known as a lofting iron. The idea of a lofting iron is to elevate the ball on approach shots. The iron is smooth faced with a very slight concave face to it. The blade is large and lofted with the toe clearly taller than the heel. The head has no clubmaker's name, but this is not unusual as when this club was made most cleek makers did not mark their work. It has a sheepskin grip and hickory shaft. The hosel has nice clean nicking.
