Early Rut Niblick Golf Club
Early Rut Niblick Golf Club
Antique Rut Niblick.
A good quality, smooth faced, rut niblick golf club with hickory shaft. A nice desirable golf collectable, maker unknown. The club head with deep brown patina and pitting to the surface. Shaft with a replaced suede leather grip.
Some people categorise these types of clubs as track or rut irons, but by the late 1880's track or rut irons were being replaced by a lighter and more refined iron. These clubs were different as the head was slightly larger, the blade was not as thick and they had a shorter hosel. This type of club is now commonly referred to as a 'rut niblick'.
The measurements shown are the length of the shaft with hosel and the width and depth of the face.
