Unusual Hickory Golf Club, Putter
Unusual Hickory Golf Club, Putter
Vintage Narrow Face Spalding Putter.
A fine and nicely weighted dot punched faced putter by A.G. Spalding & Bros. The hickory shaft with new polished leather grip, the rear of the club head marked with Spaldings 'Anvil' cleek mark and 'Hand Forged, Rustless, Putter'. The putter with a long, slender and narrow face. A great usable putter.
In Britain Spalding's main business seemed to be golf balls more than clubs. On Spalding's clubs a variety of cleek marks were used, the 'anvil' mark was used in their forge in Dysart, Scotland.
The measurements shown are the length of the shaft with hosel and the width and depth of the face.
